Race Day

Up at 4.30am, dressed and packed. Head down for breakfast and wonder how you're going to be able to eat that early, and how you're going to either take on the loo's at the wall, or run for 21+ km's clenching your buttocks!

One 2-slice toaster for 400 people, and a lovely Chinese lady allowing the bread in the toaster for just long enough to heat it up. Add to this: an old fried egg and a green banana. Thank you Megan, for remembering the instant oats. Into the bus we herd, but not before our rooms have been checked and the names of the towel thieves announced! We're off for the 40 minute trip to the wall.

It's well organised. Line up to put your green bags in storage. Line up to put labels on your goodies which you'll get at the 13km mark. Line up for the quad-stretching-loo-delight. Line up to try and change your t-shirt for a bigger size - you may wear a small, but in China a small is for a small infant! Line up for the start: and we're off.
