So last year I asked my dad to bring me a pair of running shoes from South Africa as they are much cheaper over there. I was wearing Brooks glycerin at the time, so I asked for the same again, giving the size etc. My darling, beloved 80-something year old father arrived with a pair of Brooks running shoes and a bottle of glycerine. When I asked what the bottle was about, he very indignantly told me that that was what I had asked for. And he had bought Brooks Radius running shoes!
It was time to replace the Radius's, and so off I went to the In Training running shop in Milton. They are pretty thorough and seem to know what they are on about, and although I have been a confirmed Brooks supporter since switching from New Balance about 4 years ago, I will try anything just to keep the nice sales lady happy.
The long and the short of it is that I am now the new owner of a pair of Asics Nimbus running shoes. Good bye Brooks. Our time together was great, and I feel as if I'm betraying you, but it's time to move on........
Asics me to the wall and beyond..........
